Jungbunzlauer’s facility routes all sanitary sewer through a central lift station. When the primary pump failed and went unaddressed, the backup pump followed — leaving the site with no way to discharge sewage to municipal infrastructure. Dynamic Excavating was called in immediately and began vacuum truck pumping the same day, running two cycles every day at 4:00 AM and 8:00 PM for six consecutive weeks while replacement parts were sourced. With parts on a six-week lead time, there was no margin for missed runs.
Once parts arrived, our confined space and rescue team entered the lift station with full gas monitoring equipment, proper respiratory protection, and hazmat suits. Working in the confined space, we extracted the failed pumps – breaking them free with hammers and chisels after years of buildup — then installed the new pumps on a slide rail system with a complete plumbing reconstruction of the existing infrastructure. Electrical upgrades including a new panel were completed in coordination with Feeder Electrical, bringing the station fully up to standard before handover.
